Social Carnival
Several commons and other self-managed spaces in Naples engage collectively every year to organise the ‘social carnival’, a series of street parties with parades, floats and music organised for the children and inhabitants of each neighbourhood.
Giardino Liberato
“L’unico fascio ca ce piace è chill ‘e friarielli”. This is the motto of the Friariello Multicultural Festival, the main cultural and self-financing event organised every year by the Giardino Liberato community in Materdei.
Scugnizzo Liberato
The Scugnizzo Liberato community has dedicated a lot of effort over time to the production of musical concerts, many of which have been collected in the festival called “Gravity Zero”.
UE’ – Underground Eccetera, Mediterranean festival of comics and printed self-productions is self-managed and self-organized by authors, authors and underground and avant-garde independent productions.
NaDir Festival
Napoli Direzione Opposta Festival was an independent, completely self-funded festival, born from the need to find an innovative and cooperative way to make professional cultural production without sacrificing the human, technical and artistic value of the people involved in the organisation. It was organised from 2015 to 2018 by the NaDir collective and the Scugnizzo Liberato community, with the subsequent collaboration of the NDO Naples Direzione Opposta movement coordination. It has always been held inside the Soccavo multipurpose building. NaDir is an independent festival because it is completely financed, from the equipment to the groups, autonomously by the collective that organises it and by those who come to experience it as an active audience.
NaDir, for its policy devoted to independence and autonomy, is also part of the MEI (Meeting delle Etichette Indipendenti) network of festivals.
The City of Naples, with the commitment of the Department of Youth Policies, has granted the use of public land on which the festival takes place and the reduction of the fee to 15% provided by art. 30 “Reductions” of the COSAP regulation (approved by Deliberation of the City Council n. 54 of 26/9/2014) in case of “particular relevance of the event for the public interest”‘.
Villa Medusa
Ever since the Villa Medusa project began, there has been close cooperation with parents and teachers from nearby schools. Above all, those active in the Madonna Assunta complex have been a driving force for every challenge faced.
